Painted Alchemy

Graphic Design

I have a degree in Commercial Art from Ferris State University.  In the past I have worked for:

Beech Products who produce designer paper tableware. I did design layout and production art. Took flat designs and fashioned them to fit paper plates, cups, table covers and napkins and made them print ready.

A monthly magazine called Industrial Machinery News which was a Hearst Publication. I was responsible for advertising layout and pre-press production of the entire magazine.

Effective Mailers (a quick stop before I became a full time mom) where I created direct mail advertising at top speed from beginning to final films for the plate makers.

Huron Clinton Metropolitan Authority - Wolcott Mill Metropark Farm Center. I used my graphic talents in the office for posters/fliers advertising as well as layouts of useful office forms.  My painting skills were used for outdoor "cut out" for family photo opps. I was also given the opportunity to strengthen my people skills by leading tours to educate the visitors at this modern working farm center. I now work for the Eastern District Outreach  Department for the parks, using my art skills to create props and display items for our nature and history programs.

I also work freelance from my home. Some of my clients include: Armada Grain Co., Armada Area Schools and other fine clients.
